JTK Power has operated in Suzhou, China since 2012. Over the years, the company has been established from the ground up with the strong leadership of General Manager Handy Hu and the expertise of JTK Power’s team in both Finland and China. Today, JTK Power China is an integral part of the group’s operations, featuring 8000 m² of newly-built production spaces and a turnover exceeding 45M Chinese yuan.

JTK Power China works in close collaboration with JTK Power Finland, sharing unified management, sales, and engineering teams, as well as standardized practices to ensure consistent operations, products, and services across the group. The operational scope of JTK Power China includes production, project deliveries, quality control, sourcing and HR. Production in China is centered on two key products: the group’s flagship silencers for ships and power plants, and premium welded structure solutions. The primary customer segments for JTK Power China are the marine, power plant, and process industries.

Currently, 61 percent of the world’s marine shipbuilding occurs in China. JTK Power's decision to establish operations there was driven by the strategic advantage of being close to its customers. This proximity allows JTK Power to remain closely connected to the market, maintain short lead times, minimize shipping costs and respond swiftly to customer needs. All of JTK Power Group’s products are designed in Finland.

JTK Power China has made significant investments in their production by building entirely new production facilities and acquiring state-of-the-art machinery and equipment. JTK Power China is also among the pioneering manufacturing companies in China to invest in an air filtration and cleaning system—an important commitment to the well-being of its employees.

China can be considered a demanding market area to navigate. In Hu’s experience, JTK Power’s success in China can be accumulated to several factors. Hu specifically underlines focus: in the beginning, JTK Power China focused their resources to performing core operations with the utmost quality, enabling the steady growth of the business.

“In addition to clear focus, the success of JTK Power China can be accumulated to JTK Power’s operating culture, strong support from the group, excellent collaboration between China and Finland, our stable and capable team as well as the support from our Chinese partner Suzhou Suwan Drive Product Co., Ltd.”, Hu explains.

The future for JTK Power China is full of potential. The company is currently on a growth journey, aspiring to increase its turnover by 15M CNY. The strategy for growth is based on three core themes: products, customers and people.

“We will continue supporting current customers by further increasing our production efficiency, investing in product development and upkeeping our nearly 100 % delivery reliability. We will also increase our production volumes and expand our customer base. Finally, we will keep developing our people by entrusting them with more responsibility and allowing them to thrive.
